We are Deb, Jeff, Thomas and Hanna Potter and we are just thrilled to be a part of an industry that revolves around these beautiful and captivating animals.

 High Peaks Alpacas, in the heart of the HIGH PEAKS region of New York's Adirondack Mountains, is a small farm dedicated to raising Healthy, Happy, Huacayas! We strive to raise the best animals we can..with the love and care that any alpaca owner would be proud of.

As we prepare our small farm, we would like to introduce you to our alpacas.. each very special to us..and each an integral part of what we hope will be a wonderful journey .

What We Do

Although new to the industry, we have spent the past year immersed in the industry..learning, watching, reading, talking to alpaca owners and just living the life thanks to our friends Jay and Julie Ward at Ausable Valley Alpacas. www.ausablevalleyalpacas.com

Deb fell in love with alpacas almost 8 years ago at a local fair and talked about them constantly until FINALLY attending an Open Farm Day in 2006. After that day..she was hooked! Jay and Julie Ward opened their farm to our family and taught us so much about alpacas, that it wasn't a big surprise when we purchased a Gelding ( AVA ST. MICHAEL) and a bred female (TR ROSETTA) in the Spring of 2006. Rosetta blessed us with HIGH PEAKS ALGONQUIN, a gorgeous silver gray son of AABC Naviagtaor in June of 2007, starting our tiny herd.

In October, we purchased Persnickety, a beautiful LSG girl bred to Snowmass Zambesi..who blessed us with a gorgeous true black girl.."Naki" at the end of October. 

Later in 2007, "Foggy Bottom", another gray beauty (16.2 micron fleece!!) joined the family, and will be bred to the phenomenal Snowmass Nova in the Spring of 2008.

 As our herd slowly grows, we are thankful each day for the fabulous people we have met along the way. Each of them has contributed something to our progress..and each of them are valued friends.
